Raffia is a New York–born, Los Angeles–based singer-songwriter whose soulful, sultry voice—shaped by early choir work and influences like Whitney Houston, Anita Baker and Rachelle Ferrell—ranges from intimate ballads to powerhouse dance tracks reminiscent of Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin. A Berklee College of Music graduate (Music Education/Voice), she has led bands internationally, toured as a lead and background vocalist for artists including Jennifer Holiday, Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton and Bastille, and appeared on national TV (Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, Braxton Family Values) and events like the NAACP Image Awards after-party; her debut EP Let It Go established her solo R&B/soul career as she continues performing festivals, benefit concerts and jazz shows across the U.S.
