Marlon "Marlo" Wells is a Detroit-born Jazz, Soul, R&B, and Christian music artist whose sound is rooted in Motown heritage — his father worked alongside Marvin Gaye and Mary Wells — and shaped by the vocal artistry of jazz fusion legend Al Jarreau. After years in corporate America providing for his family, Marlo returned to his first love: singing.
His journey began at Gospel Memorial COGIC in Long Beach, where his first solo brought the church to its feet and confirmed his calling. At 61, he made history on NBC's The Voice Season 13 as the oldest contestant to perform a blind audition, earning national attention for his smooth, powerful tone.
Since then, he has released four albums, numerous singles, and continues to perform across the country — including two near-sellout shows at the legendary Catalina Jazz Club and a dream-cometrue performance in Paris. Today, Marlo brings his signature "Smuuzic Sound" to stages as a vocalist, entertainer, and DJ, blending soul, jazz, gospel, and grown-folk groove.
