Will Downing
Will Downing, known as The Prince of Sophisticated Soul, boasts over 30 years of artistry and 21 albums in his impressive career. His repertoire includes beloved R&B classics like “I Go Crazy,” “Wishing On A Star,” and original hits such as “A Million Ways” and the memorable duet “Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This” with Rachelle Ferrell. His distinctive baritone voice resonates deeply, creating a devoted fan base worldwide.
Through his Sophisticated Soul record label, Downing continues to craft fresh melodies and lush arrangements that appeal to diverse musical tastes. His latest album, “The Promise,” released on November 30, 2018, showcases his enduring talent.
Excitingly, Will Downing will perform live at Thornton Winery, offering an unforgettable evening of soulful music. Additionally, he hosts The Wind Down, a weekly radio show broadcasted across 20 stations globally, further sharing his passion for music with fans around the world.
Marian Meadows
Marion Meadows is an acclaimed American saxophonist and composer known for his smooth blend of contemporary jazz and R&B. Originally a tenor player, he transitioned to the soprano sax, developing a signature warm yet sharp tone that resonates lyrically. Meadows debuted as a leader with the 1990 album “For Lovers Only,” quickly becoming a staple on smooth jazz radio.
His hit “Forbidden Fruit” reached the Top Ten on multiple jazz charts, followed by successful albums like “Next to You” and “Dressed to Chill.” His 2015 release, “Soul Traveler,” peaked at ten on the contemporary jazz list, leading to “Twice as Nice” in 2021.
Marion has collaborated with greats like Bob James and Will Downing, showcasing his versatility. Meadows will soon bring his captivating saxophone sound to Thornton Winery, delighting fans with his melodic storytelling. A semi-pro cyclist and graphic artist, he also earned a doctorate from Wilberforce University in 2016.
Alex Bugnon
Alex Bugnon, a renowned contemporary jazz keyboard player, has captivated audiences for nearly three decades. Growing up in Caux, Switzerland, he was influenced by the Montreux Jazz Festival and his uncle, trumpeter Donald Byrd. After studying at the Paris Conservatory and Berklee School of Music, Bugnon began his career as a session musician in New York, working with artists like Patti Austin and Freddie Jackson.
His debut album, “Love Season,” released in 1989, soared to number two on the R&B charts, earning him a Soul Train Award nomination. Subsequent albums, including “107 Degrees in the Shade” and “This Time Around,” solidified his place in the contemporary jazz scene.
Bugnon will soon bring his energetic performances to Thornton Winery, sharing his unique sound and passion for music. With a robust touring schedule and a loyal fan base, he continues to inspire through his artistry and compositions.n

You can find a seat in the general admission section, which features concert-style rows available on a first-come, first-served basis. The concert seating takes place outdoors on the Patio, and it’s advisable to start lining up one to two hours before the show begins to ensure you secure your spot. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., so plan to arrive on time for the best seating options. Please remember that outside food and drinks are not allowed in the venue.

Gourmet Supper Packages are an excellent way to enhance your concert experience through a special meal prepared by the Executive Chef. These packages provide a seamless and enjoyable dining experience with table service.

Concert Seating: All concert seating begins approximately 45 minutes before the scheduled showtime.
Location: Enjoy your meal on our shaded patio, located behind general admission, where all tables for the Gourmet Supper Package are set up.
Dedicated Service: A dedicated server will be assigned to each table from the moment the gates open until the performance concludes, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
Seating Arrangements
Please note that all seating for the Gourmet Supper Packages are predetermined, assigned, and reserved. If you are a party of two, you will be seated with another couple to fill a table of four.
If you wish to sit with a specific couple and have purchased your tickets separately, please contact the box office to confirm both names of your party.
