Nebbiolo
$56.00 – $672.00
Thornton Winery’s Nebbiolo is best-known from its origins in the Piemonte district of Italy. We are pleased with how well Nebbiolo performs in the Temecula Valley and have plans to replace some of Thornton’s Syrah vines with this varietal. The Thornton Nebbiolo was fermented in stainless tanks, and then racked to French Oak barrels where it aged for 18 months to help soften its rather rambunctious tannins. The wine received no fining prior to bottling. Our Nebbiolo has cherry, black berry currant and blueberry notes along with a fruit-driven entry that is complemented by oak barrels from France, Eastern Europe and North America.
- Black cherry, barrel spices, earthy note
- Fruit-driven entry, rich palate and long, seamless finish
- Fermented in stainless steel
- Aged in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels
- 35% brand-new oak
