Steve Thornton, President of
Thornton Winery and son of Sally and John Thornton, was born, raised,
and educated in San Diego, California. Steve served as General Manager
for five years before being promoted to President.
He has been highly successful in managing all aspects of the winery
as well as directing the operation of Café Champagne, an
award winning Four-Star dining establishment. He is an experienced
racecar driver, surfer,
motorcyclist, mountain biker, and skydiver. Steve has surfed the
Pacific Chain, as far south as Fiji and Bali.
A sophisticated traveler, Steve has been on safari in Africa; traveled
extensively through Europe, Asia, the British Isles; and has visited
Canada, Mexico, and Central America. During his travels, he has
been exposed to many exotic, gourmet food and wine adventures. A
perfectionist, Steve is most discerning, he brings much knowledge
and expertise to the winery and restaurant business.
