TEMECULA – Thornton Winery is
proud to announce that Jay Weseloh has accepted the position of
Assistant Winemaker for the company. Weseloh, who has played an
instrumental role to many Temecula Valley wineries, began working
at Hart Winery in 1993 assisting with crush. In 1997 he joined the
winemaking staff of Mount Palomar where his focus was lab work and
assisting the Winemaker.
Born in La Jolla and raised in Oceanside, it was a visit to Hart
Winery that Weseloh’s passion for winemaking emerged. Weseloh
has attended UC Davis where he took viticulture and enology classes.
Weseloh joined Thornton Winery in November 2004 working part time
as a Lab Assistant. He was promoted to Assistant Winemaker in 2005.
He currently is a professor at Palomar Community College and MiraCosta
College educating students on “World Religions.”
“Jay has been a part of our team for about a year now on a
part time basis and I am pleased to have him as a full time Assistant
Winemaker. Jay’s past experience with enology and winemaking
will complement our team beginning this harvest and into the future”
